Elvis
Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16,
1977), also known as "The King of Rock 'n'
Roll" and "Elvis the Pelvis", was
an American singer, song producer and actor.
Rolling
Stone magazine claimed "Elvis Presley is
rock 'n' roll" and called his body of work
"acres of perfect material." During an
active recording career that spanned more than
two decades, Presley set and broke many records
for both concert attendance and sales. Since
then, those records have only been matched
and/or broken by the likes of The Beatles,
Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey. Presley had
more than 100 singles in the US top 40 and 17
went to number one. He has reportedly sold an
